Laser Cutting
Precision cuts with clean edges - no tooling, no limits on complexity.
CNC laser cutting delivers precise profiles with clean, burr-free edges, from single prototypes to full production batches.

Overview
Laser cutting uses a CNC-controlled high-energy laser beam to melt or vapor-cut metal sheet along programmed paths. Assisted by auxiliary gases such as oxygen and nitrogen to blow away molten slag, it produces a clean kerf with no contact and no tooling throughout the process. Compared with conventional blanking, it delivers high precision and burr-free edges while eliminating tooling investment. It can form any complex profile directly from CAD data, making it the preferred blanking method for prototyping, low-volume production and custom-shaped parts. It can also pre-form blanks for high-volume stamped components.
Production Process
CAD programming from DXF, DWG or other design files
Select the sheet specification to drawing; inspect the surface, then position and clamp the workpiece
Set power, speed and gas pressure; run a first-article test cut to confirm kerf and edge quality
CNC automatic cutting along the programmed path - fully numerically controlled
Unload parts, sort them by part number, and deburr or edge-finish as required
Sampling inspection of dimensions and edges; accepted parts proceed to stamping
Key Advantages
- Micron-level precision - CNC controlled, accurate dimensions and consistent batches
- Clean, burr-free edges - no secondary deburring operation required
- Complex geometry - any custom contour or shaped hole, with no tooling constraints
- Small heat-affected zone - localized heating minimizes distortion in thin sheet and preserves the dimensions needed for subsequent stamping
- No tooling required - change the program to change the part, with no die development lead time or cost
- Ideal for prototyping and low volume - fast, cost-effective response for samples, pilot runs and small orders
- High material utilization - nesting maximizes sheet usage and minimizes scrap
- No tooling amortization - no die cost, ideal for product ranges with many variants and modest volumes
- Highly automated - fully CNC controlled, one operator can tend several machines, and cutting can run unattended

Frequently Asked Questions
Q: What is the maximum sheet thickness you can cut?
A: It depends on machine power. For typical fibre laser cutting, around 1–20 mm; thicker material can be cut in carbon steel
Q: What cutting accuracy can you achieve?
A: CNC laser cutting achieves micron-level accuracy, with precise dimensions and consistent batches
Q: Will the cut edges have burrs?
A: No. Laser-cut edges are clean and burr-free, with no secondary deburring required
Q: Can you cut complex, custom-shaped parts?
A: Yes. Any complex contour or shaped hole can be cut directly, with no tooling constraints.
Q: Can you handle small batches or prototypes?
A: Yes. Laser cutting requires no tooling - changing the program changes the part - so prototyping and low-volume runs are fast and cost-effective
