Why Do Metal Casings Need Surface Treatment?

Jul 17, 2026 Leave a message

After metal casings are machined, they typically require surface treatment to improve corrosion resistance, wear resistance, and appearance. Different products may require different treatment methods depending on their specific needs.

Aluminum alloy casings often undergo anodizing to form a dense oxide film on the surface, enhancing corrosion resistance and allowing for processing in various colors such as black, silver, and champagne. Stainless steel, on the other hand, can be treated with brushing and mirror polishing to enhance its texture.

For steel plate casings, powder coating and painting are the most widely used methods, offering a rich variety of colors, strong adhesion, and good weather resistance. Some products also utilize electrophoresis and electroplating processes to further improve oxidation resistance. Proper surface treatment not only extends product lifespan but also enhances brand image and market competitiveness.
